Some of the most frequently used sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), which has been in effect for over 160 years, will receive new numbers in the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita Bill, 2023. These section numbers have long been a part of dialogue in movies, popular culture, and everyday language.
The previous and new section numbers are listed below. However, keep in mind that these new figures are not yet final and may alter once the Standing Committee has reviewed the Bill and it has been discussed in Parliament.
